Figurative artist blending realism and abstraction

As a contemporary mixed-media artist, I transform life's pivotal moments into vibrant, multilayered paintings that resonate with collectors seeking meaningful connection. Let's bring your space to life with art that evolves with your journey

Nashville artist Anna Wise, known for her distinctive figurative paintings that blend realism and abstraction, poses in front of her artwork.

Anna’s pursuit of art began as soon as she could hold a pen.

As a young adult, she created album covers and posters for various bands she performed in as well as other musicians in the United States. This was ultimately what inspired her interest in pursuing art professionally in 2020. To this day music is a strong influence on her work.

Anna specializes in mixed media and oil painting- each painting has at least 40 layers of ink, pastel, spray paint, collaged elements, arcrylic paint, and oil paint.

Her beautifully chaotic paintings explore themes of struggle and renewal, and celebrate idiosyncrasies and experiences that make us one of a kind. Mixing elements of abstract expressionism, surrealism, and a hint of street art, her paintings have been described as dreamy, vibrant, and empowering. She describes her work as “pretty paintings with gritty themes.

She participated in Superfine Art Fair in April 2023/April 2024, and The Other Art Fair in May 2024. She was The Graduate Hotels’ artist in residence in 2024.

When not in the studio, she enjoys playing music, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their furry posse of dogs, cats, and chickens.
